This ‘group of people’ is commonly denoted as your ‘target market’. The market segment in which the needs of such a  group of people can be met by your specialised knowledge, as products or services, in a profitable manner, is termed as a niche market. In short, your primary task, at this stage, is to identify  your niche market and conduct further research to find out niches which you can dominate with your knowledge and skills. This additional research is essential to find out about the competetion, customer behaviour, advertisement costs etc that will give shape to your marketing campaigns.
