Making a sales funnel is key towards getting your business off the ground. For those of you that do not know what this is, well it’s where you create a funnel of websites or have focused websites for people to see. The whole purpose of this is to give value and sale to people.

So to make a sales funnel you will need an auto-responder account which will allow you to email people that are interested in your business. Once you get an auto-responder account you can then build a capture page.

Now with a capture page all you need to do is offer something of value that your target market wants, in exchange of them giving you their name and email, and once they fill out the opt in form that the auto-responders provides you will then gain that person in your list AKA a lead.

Once people give you their contact info they will then check their email to get the information you sent them. And then you can begin providing more value and information to the people that become your leads and thus emailing them affiliate links to products and services they may be interested in.

2nd key internet marketing tactics-Push traffic
Now with a sales funnel in place it’s not going to make money on its own, for you will need to get people in it, and the real way to do that is to get traffic to your opt in forms so that people can join your email list. And the more traffic you get the more leads you get and therefore sales in your business.

Once upon a time, we were all told to make a list of 100 people that we know and call those people.  The company gave us this advice and then sent us on our way.  Those days are over.  Attraction marketing is what separates the successful from the struggling.

Businesses typically engage in several marketing and advertising activities that they use to try and generate new business. Some of these methods are Television and newspaper ads, flyers, signs and billboards, radio segments, direct mail advertisements and face to face presentations. Although these are great ways to get the business names out into the community, it does offer major disadvantages. First these advertisements cost money, sometimes a lot of money. An ad in a newspaper can cost anywhere from $200 to $1500 or more depending on the location and the size of the ad. Television and radio segments cost even more. Again, this is costly to the budget.

The one thing that you will notice about the methods summarized above is that they do not seem very efficient; in fact a lot of if might be trial and error. Research the market, construct and implement, and advertise your product or service, and wait and see if it generates business. If it generates business stay with it until it fades, if it does not generate any new business, or the cost does not outweigh the benefit of the advertisement, then start over. That is why you often hear the word campaign associated with the marketing and advertising industry. Campaign is defined most commonly in terms of a battle or war. Utilizing these methods, you are actually searching for your customers. I do not know about you, but marketing a home based business should not be in the same sentence with a battle or a war. Marketing a home based business should stay in line with the reasons why most people start a home based business, flexibility, efficiency and cost effectiveness.

When you start writing an ad, you should look at it from the customer’s perspective. When the customer views the ad, what will they think? What in that ad tells them that they need to try your product or that they need your service? What makes them believe that your services could help to change their life and make it better somehow? You need to be able to write about the product or service in an exciting way, you need to have a hook that will make the customer want to click on your link and find out more about what you are offering.

It is a good idea to learn to write ads of different lengths as well. Start by writing a large ad, such as a landing page. This should impart information about the product, as well as what the product offers in the form of benefits for the customer. Landing pages are generally long and full of information. Your job is to make sure that all of that information, and any customer testimonials, are compelling enough to make someone want to learn more. You should also write smaller ads that you could use with online advertising sites. The key to making sure these ads are effective is concentrating on the main benefit of the service. A short, memorable phrase that encapsulates the product works the best.

Interesting information is important, of course. As is nice clear design and easy navigation. People have very short attention spans online so if they can’t find what they’re looking for quickly they’re off… probably to your competitor!

But even if you have a bright, fun, interesting craft blog which engages your visitor and makes them want to come back, there’s a high chance that they won’t. Even those that think they will, might well not. Haven’t you done exactly that yourself? Said you’ll go back to a site later – but then not bookmarked it or got distracted by something else, never to return?

So your craft business has lots of visitors that might well have bought from you… but didn’t. What’s more you have no way of knowing who they were. To some extent that’s business life. If you had a real-world store you would have lots of people visit who never came back. But what if you could encourage them to do exactly that? What if you could do so relatively easily?

Make your newsletter subscriber feel valued and important, give them a sense of exclusivity and your craft business hasn’t just hooked a visitor it has gained a valuable, loyal, repeat customer.
